Transferring iphones
I want to get a new iPhone, transfer my # to the new one, and then give my old phone to my daughter to upgrade hers. Can I do that on my own? And do I transfer the sim card as part of this process?
Just based on my own personal knowledge, the phone number is assigned to the SIM card and not the phone. For this reason, you should be good just switching the SIM card from your current phone to your new one and then giving your old phone to your daughter. Some carriers may give you a hard time about this but if you're in the United States I believe it should be plug-and-play with most carriers, but of course check with your own carrier policies. If you have any issues just give them a call.
