Can't change OneDrive accounts

I'm trying to bin my student OneDrive account and add my work one but every time I try to move to bin, I get an error message saying OneDrive is open but everything is closed.

I was able to go to System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items tab, and remove OneDrive from the list yesterday and this worked. But when I went to reinstall with my work account it just remembered all my student account details so I was back to the start.

I'm trying to redo but upgraded to Ventura 13.0.1 and now the above Login Items tab doesn't exist.

Not sure what to do now?

I figured it out!

Need to click on cloud in upper right hand menu and go to Preferences > account. From there I can unlink old account and add new account.

Thanks!

Hey there Karolina,

While this sounds like something you may need to reach out to OneDrive Support about, we'd like to rule out some things from the Apple side of things:

  1. You mentioned that you removed OneDrive from within some system preferences, but what occurred when you tried to access OneDrive afterwards? The more details you provide, the better we'll understand what's happening.
  2. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
  3. We also recommend making sure that all apps are up to date: How to manually update apps on your Apple device

Cheers!

Thank you.

Answers to your questions:

  1. After removing OneDrive vis system preferences, I was able to delete the application by putting it in the bin. I didn't get the error message saying OneDrive is open. After this I downloaded the application again but it remembered my login details so i didn't get an opportunity to change accounts.
  2. I have tried restarting the Mac several times but not after I successfully deleted the app. I probably should have shut down before installing again but it didn't occur to me at the time and now i can't delete.
  3. Apps are up to date.

Thanks,

Karolina
