airpod pro not staying connect after IOS16.1.1 update

Both my iphone 12 pro and my airpod pros are updated to the most current ios or firmware. However, since the most recent phone update of 16.1.1, my airpods will not stay connected. I have "forgotten this device" re paired the airpods, restarted the phone, charged the airpods to full and re paired, etc. Several times over the last week. They will connect the first time and will still show up in my bluetooth list but then the next time I try to use them they just will not connect. I don't want to have to re pair them each time I want to make phone call or listen to music. Will I have to wait for a patch from Apple or is there some other buried setting to try? Thank you.

Hi there diballenger,

Thanks for your post to Apple Support Communities. We understand your AirPods Pro are having disconnection issues on your iPhone. You've already done some great troubleshooting so far. One other thing we'd suggest testing, is pairing them with another device to confirm the issue is with your AirPods Pro and not anything with your iPhone. Once you've narrowed that down, next we'd recommend getting in touch with our support teams directly.

They can look at possible service options with you. You can reach them here: Apple Support
