My iMac tells me there's an update to Ventura 13.0.1. But it won't do the update. Instead when I click on the link I get the following: "Passcode is not set. An error occurred while installing the selected updates." It also says my Mac will try this evening and automatically restart. It's been telling me this for several days, but does not do it. When I look online for info on Passcodes, all I get are references to iPhone and iPads. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi GR3G48,

We appreciate you reaching out to us. We understand that you are experiencing issues installing an update to your iMac.

Let’s check if the issue persists if you use a different user account to install the update.

The article below can help if you do not have any other user account to test with.

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

If you are experiencing the issue when signed in on a different user account, please check if the issue persists while on safe mode.

Safe mode does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility.

Performing this step may help resolve the issue, or further isolate the issue.

Below is an article to help guide you through the process.
