Upgrading from Hi Sierra (Time machine back up) to Ventura.. Where is my itunes Library

I have purchased a new iMac and it has Ventura.. my Time machine back up has Hi-Sierra from my working old iMac.

I have upgraded successfully but my iTunes has changed to Music and I have nothing existing in my (thank you Apple) "Music library".. where are my iTunes Songs, Playlists, Podcasts etc, etc, etc... , Years and Years of being an Apple Fan... and this headache... Awful.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

Restore the iTunes folder from Time Machine unless you've already done so. It should be ~/Music/iTunes in your TM backup and should be restored into ~/Music as ~/Music/iTunes.

Then hold down option as you launch music so you get a prompt to choose or create a library.

Click choose library, then browse to and open ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Library.itl.

Next you have to choose a location for the converted library, typically you'd want this to be at ~/Music/Music but if that folder already exists you'll likely be offered ~/Music/Music 1. Rename the existing folder first or accept the suggestion, we can discuss renaming folders once the library is in a working state.

See Move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Community. In general you should copy over the entire iTunes folder, then press and hold down option as you launch Music to convert the library to the new format.

See also Managing your Mac media libraries - Apple Community. I've still got a bit of work to do there but it might still be useful in its current form.
