iTunes and iPhone I just loaded the iTunes app on my new laptop, signed in and all my music is there but my Playlists are gone. The problem is my laptop iTunes and iPhone are not communicating with each other. I've never had to "plug in the iPhone to my laptop to sync. Unfortunately the person I spoke with at Apple told me to plug in and "sync". The laptop took over my iPhone and wiped out my playlists on my iPhone. I'll recreate the playlist but how can I have it talk to my iPhone.

iTunes won’t connect to iphone 12 So I have itunes on my laptop because I have some music on there that are not available on Apple Music. I wanted to update my iphone playlist but the laptop USB won’t connect to my phone now. That means I can’t make any changes to my iTunes Library on my phone and I don’t know how to fix that. Does Apple Music allow uploads from a laptop or PC? Or is it strictly from their cloud/streaming service?

Reboot the device. You might try signing out of your Apple ID and then sign in again on your device. See Sign in with your Apple ID - Apple Support.
