Terminal opens with Gimp process, cannot use Terminal

When I open the Terminal, I get this:

/Applications/GIMP-2.10.app/Contents/Resources/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/file-jpeg ; exit;

davidweiss@Mac-mini ~ % /Applications/GIMP-2.10.app/Contents/Resources/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/file-jpeg ; exit;

/Applications/GIMP-2.10.app/Contents/Resources/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/file-jpeg is a GIMP plug-in and must be run by GIMP to be used

Saving session...

...copying shared history...

...saving history...truncating history files...

...completed.

[Process completed]

And a solid cursor appears right after the last character, and I cannot enter anything. Clearly this is a weird Gimp process that is stuck or something, but any ideas on how I can get it to stop? I opened Gimp, and couldn't see any active processes. I searched in Activity Monitor for Gimp and killed the only thing I found, but that didn't help. Also all Terminal sessions are now called file-jpeg, probably a hint at the stuck process for someone who knows what they're doing.

Any ideas on clearing this out so that I can use the Terminal?

Thanks much!

Look in the Terminal Preferences, General tab, for anything in the Shell opens with section.

Also, in the default Profile on the Profiles tab, look in the Shell tab. There is a startup section there.

Both are normally blank.

Hi Barney-15E -- Actually this is an operator-error situation. By mistake I have been opening a Terminal file, in this case something called file-jpeg, which was in the Recents section of the doc, rather than opening the Terminal app. If I open the Terminal, all is well.

I feel a bit embarrassed, but all's well that ends well.

Still, thanks for pointing me down the right path to figuring out the error of my ways.

Thanks Barney-15E -- Under "Shell opens with..." Command was selected, followed by '/bin/zsh' Before, '/bin/bash' was there, but I recently changed from bash to zsh, so I changed "bash" to "zsh" in that line. In Profiles default tab, under Shell, it was blank.

I tried deleting the '/bin/zsh' line under "Shell opens with..." but that didn't help; I get the same result.

Oh; I guess I could try removing and re-installing Terminal?
