How to send email with iPhone?

On my Mac I can send and receive email with Mail using a service provider with specific incoming/outgoing server settings.

How do I do that with Mail on iPhone/iPad?

What I've tried:

  • On iPhone I navigate to Settings/Mail/Accounts/Add Account.
  • On the service provider list I select "Other".
  • I tap "Add Mail Account"
  • I fill in the New Account information. I make sure to use the same exact username and password as on my Mac. I copy the password from my Keychain and paste it in the input field.
  • I set up the IMAP account and make sure to use the same exact incoming and outgoing mail servers as on my Mac. For both servers I check that the username is correct and paste the password.
  • I click Next and wait for verification.
  • I get an error: "Cannot Send Mail The username or password for [my smtp server] is incorrect."

This process is valid for all mails, AOL, Google, Yahoo, Outlook, Hotmail, Exchange etc etc

  1. Keep your email id and password handy
  2. Use this link to find out your Incoming and Outgoing server settings by entering your email address

https://support.apple.com/mail-settings-lookup

If it is not available in the link above contact your email client

The GIF is self explanatory.
