Apple wallet not working with double click

Hi, I have an iPhone 12 and was exited to use the apple wallet feature on the iPhone. When I tried to double click the button it just shuts off my iPhone. I don’t have any cards on there yet but I do have some passes so I’m not sure why it’s not working.

I have read some other reviews on this website but they are a bit outdated so I’m hoping someone can answer this question fresh for me.

I have done the instructions on the other complaints but that doesn’t seem to work. Please help.
