iOS 16.1.1 Wallpaper and "Do Not Disturb" are not stable

Got my new iPhone 13 couple weeks ago, upgraded to iOS 16.1.1 and as time goes by, no matter how many times I set up my beloved wallpaper (with my 2 grandkids) as "current", and customized the font and what widgets I want on the screen — it doesn't stay, or it stays for a few hours, and then, in the middle of the day, it changes by itself to the same old photo I used as my Wallpaper in my previous iPhone.

Same with "Do Not Disturb" which has always been set up to 12am - 7:30am, but at, say 10pm it shows as "DO Not Disturb" and the wallpaper darkens...

I suspect it has something to do with Focus, which I don't use, except for this "Do Not Disturb" thingy...

Something is going on here...... Please help!

Hello amifromskokie,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We're happy to look into this with you.

It sounds like you may have "Automatic" enabled in Settings > Display & Brightness. If you're not sure, check that and disable. That should correct the wallpaper darkening on its own.

Adjust the brightness and color temperature on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

As for the time being incorrect for "Do Not Disturb", there are a couple things you can check.

  1. Restart your iPhone Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  2. Confirm the date and time are correct on your iPhone. Change the date and time on iPhone - Apple Support
  3. In "Date and Time" ensure that you have "Set Automatically" enabled.
  4. Try deleting your "Do Not Disturb" settings and set it up again. Use Do Not Disturb with Focus on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If you continue to experience issues after those actions, contact Apple Support to report the issue you're having, so they can investigate. You can reach them at Get Support.

Best regards.
