Yesterday, touch-id stopped working on my M1 iMac with Ventura 13.0.1.
I went to "System Settings", "Touch ID & Password" and tried to slide the switch on, but the slider was greyed out, I couldn't turn it on. It appears to still know about my fingerprint.
How do I turn it back on the way it has been for a year and a half?

Turned it off, plugged it in, and discovered that the switches were all turned on again!!

Turn off the Touch ID Keyboard.
Cable it directly to the computer via the Apple Suppled Cable and turn on the Keyboard and try again

Yup the bifocals I use do not always pickup things
That's much better! "On" used to be green.
The whole idea of slide switches should be obvious which way is on and which way is off.
