Command key
When pressing my left command key it shows desktop placing the other running things sideways or upwards while the right command key works perfectly fine

Shortcuts… button at bottom of Desktop & Dock settings, under Mission Control.
Look at the shortcut for Show Desktop. If it is set to something other than Left Command key, try changing it to something else. I think F11 is the default.
