I recently got an M1 Macbook Pro and got the free trial of Parallels on it. I'm trying to activate the windows with the product key I got from an old laptop that was never activated (Lenovo Thinkpad T550). When I enter the key it gives me the error message: "The product key you entered doesn't work". Does anyone know what the problem is?

You said you have a M1 Mac. Only the pre-release version of Windows ARM runs in Parallels on the M1 Mac.
My understanding is that you can only run the beta version for Windows 11 on parallels. Windows or I should say Microsoft is not release an official arm version so your product key will not work until they do.
Are you looking for the product key for Parallels or for Windows?
If for Windows, there is no publicly released version of Windows that runs on the M1 Mac. You can join the Microsoft Insider Program and get a copy of the pre-release version of Windows ARM.
