iPad ethernet capability through iTunes

When I have a large upload for an app (e.g., several gb for Foreflight aviation charts update), it would be a lot faster if I could plug my iPad into my PC, and then get the updates through the USB connection and iTunes. Obviously, there would be no problem with data security, since the update is as requested by the app in any case. But the conduit: [iPad - USB - iTunes on PC - Ethernet - router], would be faster than [iPad - wi-fi - router]. Obviously, iPad backup uses that conduit now. It would just speed things up if we were able to use iTunes as a means to use Ethernet to upload large amounts of data for an app.
