Unable to locate @ on MacBook Air French keyboard

Hi all, I cannot find the @ symbol. The alt+accent grave does not provide me with that key.

What character does alt+accent grave produce instead?

Go to system settings > keyboard > input sources and make sure that you have only one item on the list, and that the name of that item is "French".

You can use Keyboard Viewer to see which key does what for any layout.
