My iMessage is definitely turned on, but when I text myself, the messages are green and not blue. (They used to be blue but suddenly turned green for no reason)
Texting to other people with iPhones still show up as blue, but my phone doesn't recognize itself as an iPhone. The green color bugs me a lot and I don't know how to make my messages to myself blue again.

iMessage (Blue) requires internet (Either over WiFi or Cellular Service) as it is sent over internet protocol. Needs Activation on your device.
SMS (Green) does not require any internet it is sent over cellular voice protocol. Needs to be enabled by your Carrier for the SIM used by you.
It will turn from Blue to Green if you have enabled "Send as SMS". Whenever your iPhone is not connected to the internet it is sent as SMS (green) to all iPhone users.
i am having the exact issue. all my toggles are correct. i even went to verizon store to see if they could help. they are baffled too. they suggested i contact apple.
