Retrieve a deleted conversation in the iPad.

I’m trying to retrieve a deleted conversation on my iPad. I downloaded the most recent iOS 16.1 as per the instructions and after doing so, I was supposed to see the recently deleted icon in the message app, but I don’t see it. Thanks for the help. Michelle.
