Kids got Pinterest access through family sharing apps

How do I stop my kiddos from downloading an app that was on a parents account once it has already been downloaded. I have tried hiding the app, but they can still download it. Is there a way to remove it from the approved apps list? This app has harmful content and my kids should not be using it.

Hey there WaltSe,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We're happy to provide some assistance.

You do have the option to prevent App Store downloads. Check out this helpful resource under "Prevent iTunes & App Store purchases" section: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

"Prevent iTunes & App Store purchases

You can also prevent your child from being able to install or delete apps, make in-app purchases, and more. To prevent iTunes & App Store purchases or downloads:

    1. Go to Settings and tap Screen Time.
    2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. If asked, enter your passcode.
    3. Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases.
    4. Choose a setting and set to Don't Allow.

You can also change your password settings for additional purchases from the iTunes & App Store or Book Store. Follow steps 1-3, then choose Always Require or Don't Require."

Keep us posted.

Have a great day!

Thanks for the response. I'll take a look. The problem is they already got the app and now they can download it even if I hide it. Pineterest is bad news and Apple has it as a 12+ app although anyone can join and wathch the bad material. No verification needed. Google has it as a 17+ app which I agree with. Pintrest is not a recipe app anymore. Only option is to allow them to download 9+ apps to restrict them from downloading this 12+ app. Apple has serious problems with the way their software works. A simple remove from account is all I need. I may have to contact their support or do away with apple tablets.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner. Pick the closest topic you can find.
