I have my sons iPad linked via family sharing, he has downloaded an app that’s not opening and we want to delete it but I’ve set it up so he can’t . I can’t figure out how to change it back to allow this

Hello Kirmit84,

In order to delete apps on your son's iPad, you will first need to disable the Screen Time restriction preventing app deletion. This can be done following the below steps, taken from the Apple Support article about parental controls, Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support:

You can also prevent your child from being able to install or delete apps, make in-app purchases, and more. To prevent iTunes & App Store purchases or downloads:

1. Go to Settings and tap Screen Time.
2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. If asked, enter your passcode.
3. Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases.
4. Choose a setting and set to Don't Allow.

You can also change your password settings for additional purchases from the iTunes & App Store or Book Store. Follow steps 1-3, then choose Always Require or Don't Require.

The above steps discuss enabling iTunes & App Store purchase or download restrictions, but the option to allow or not allow deleting apps is in this menu as well. You can see that in the image below, taken from the same article:

Once you've set the option to delete apps to Allow, you can delete the app you no longer want on the iPad. Then, you can follow these directions again to turn the restriction for app deletion back to Don't Allow.
