See Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support. Check your sync selections. Occasionally these may spontaneously reset, such that nothing is actually selected for syncing.

Yes.
What stage are you at now?
iTunes does not recognize iPod classic, it shows in file explorer as a drive (E). I have used 2 different cables, 99% sure they are good. I have not seen a response that gives me the steps I need to sync.
Not sure what you mean in Q1; it has been a few years since I synced this ipod and this library. Content of library has changed significantly.
Your Q2, itunes does not recognize ipod. File explorer recognizes it as drive E. fairly sure cables are good, just purchased a new cable, have to wait for its arrival. That link is not helpful. Followed suggestions, until I couldn't, kept going back to impasse. Shouldn't be this difficult.
I have a similar problem to TNK, however my Ipod Classic IS recognised by my I-Tunes (the latest version) threatens to start syncing, ie the disc on the screen of my I-Pod rotates then stops after a few turns. Any ideas as to what I might do to rectify this? Thanks
And if you have content on your iPod that is not in your computer see Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community.

Have you looked at the document that I provided a link to (in my question 2 in my previous post)?

What version of iTunes is installed? Did it come from the Microsoft Store or was it an iTunes64Setup.exe installer from apple.com?
