Mac not showing up in Screen Mirroring from iPhone

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max w/ iOS 16.1.1 and a McBook Pro with Ventura 13.0.1. I used this feature all the time when I wanted to share the contents of my phone with others. Recently it stopped working. When I select Screen Mirroring from the control panel, my MacBook no longer shows up. I've reviewed everything I found online but still does not work. Any pointers?

Hi mzagorski1116,

If you are not able to mirror your iPhone to your Mac, make sure your Mac is set up correctly by following Wirelessly stream video, photos, and audio from your iPhone to a Mac:

    1. "On a Mac, do one of the following:
      • macOS Ventura: Choose Apple menu  Settings, click General in the sidebar, click Sharing on the right, turn on AirPlay Receiver, then click the Info button .

2. Choose an option for “Allow AirPlay for:”

      • To allow only devices where you’re signed in with the same Apple ID as on the Mac to stream to the Mac, select “Current user.”
      • To allow others, select “Anyone on the same network” or “Everyone.”

To require a password to use AirPlay with the Mac, select the option, then enter a password in the text field."

From there, continue to:

"Mirror your iPhone on a Mac

On a Mac, you can view and listen to whatever appears and plays on your iPhone.

    1. Open Control Center on your iPhone.
    2. Tap [mirror icon] , then choose your Mac as the playback destination.

To switch back to iPhone, open Control Center, tap [mirror icon], then tap Stop Mirroring."

If it continues, follow If screen mirroring or streaming isn't working on your AirPlay-compatible device.

Take care.
