There is an issue with whatsapp backup to icloud ( I can’t figure out whether it’s after ios 16 or latest whatsapp update), auto backup isn’t working even when connected to a wifi and when i try to backup manually it gets stuck at “preparing”. I tried every troubleshooting possible but to no use.

Strange how it seems only some of us are affected and others are not - given it’s the same hardware and same software.

I’ve exactly the same issue - it’s unsettling after years of taking the app’s back up feature for granted ☹️

thank you for your post, however it did not work for me: I tried to stop and restart the backup more than 5 times with no success.
