It it possible to pay for a year's worth of storage instead of paying monthly? If, so, how do I go about that?

iCloud Annual Fee:

No. There is no annual iCloud payment. If you were to see one in the future, then it may be a promotion of sorts. See your options here: iCloud+ Plans and Pricing - Apple Support

You can always add enough money to your store credit to cover your iCloud payments for a year. If the only subscription you have is iCloud, then that would be the best option for you, but if you have other active subscriptions, then they’ll take from your store credit too every time they auto renew. Really up to you how you want to set it up.
