Mac OS Ventura 13.0.1 System Settings not displaying correclty - Macbook Pro 16" M1 Pro

Just updated to Mac OS Ventura 13.0.1 from 13.0.0 and System Settings seems to be broken.

"Passwords" and third party preferecnes are showing without any of the other options. 13.0.0 did work fine with the new UI but this update seems to have broken it. Anyone else have the same issue or possibly I'm missing a toggle somewhere to reveal the other options.

Any help would be much appreciated. Image below of the issue.

My reply here isn’t going to be helpful, but I’ll weigh in on this thread to add some more ballast to this issue that might help Apple pay proper attention here.

After reading through this whole thread (and many others on the interwebbs) i have confirmed that:

A) this situation is not a ”random glitch “ in Ventura,

B ) it is a ‘System killer’ level bug,

C ) it’s only solution is to ‘factory reset’ your machine (in my case, taking me all the way back to Monterey, such that I have to then re-upgrade to Ventura again🤷🏻‍♂️)

And the real corker is

D ) many many folks have had this happen and Apple had no solution other than previously mentioned ‘factory reset’, which, for us Apple pro-users means loss of time and loss of income.

Apple ? Do better. 😒🍏

I had similar problems - with System settings not actually doing or updating as it should - also after upgrade to 13.2.1.

In my case I could solve it by physically disconnecting all external devices, like an external monitor. Just switching them off, did not help.

Then all seems to work as expected, also after reconnecting the external devices (but not changing settings then).

I filed a feedback report to Apple.

I have fresh installed the OS.

I did not have any of those types of applications installed.

I had a second install on the internal partitioned drive and that was presenting the settings in normal working order.

My suspicion for my case is that the two installs were sharing config files in some capacity.

Regardless, I wasn’t able to resolve the issue and a fresh install was required. I’m yet to hear of another solution that has been confirmed to work.

I have asked this question elsewhere with the same result.

My M1 MacBook Pro has been running better with the fresh install, but still has many minor hiccups that only begun with the install of Ventura.

Cheers,

I've managed to get this back to work, still don't know why though.

I saw this in another thread where someone went into ~/Library/LaunchAgents and /Library/LaunchAgents folders and trashed these. I did the same, but did not empty the trash right away as a sort of keeping them as a backup.

Restarted and all my system settings are back to normal and accessible.

This is not without risk I assume, it might break something else in the process, but it worked for me.

Hi, are you suggesting that a fresh install of Ventura might work? I had it updated from the previous OS and did not try a fresh install. At this point, I had trouble but got to return to the previous OS and do not want to get close to Ventura for a while, but perhaps this can unveil why some issues are happening to some people and not others.

Okay - today I tried Raymonds solution - but NO LOVE for my now permanently BLANK and UNRESPONDING Reminders app :(

The good news is that my SYTEMS SETTINGS continues to stick around, so that is good. I guess I'll just have to keep checking my reminders on my iPHONE and wait for Apple folk to upgrade, and hopefully, fix this Ventura muddle.
