I had just purchased the studio head phones on Thursday, they say they have a playback up to 24 hours but I used them for the first time today and they only lasted a charge for 5 hours of my shift at work, how do I go about fixing this problem?

Are these the Beats Studio Buds or the Beats Studio3? It sounds like you may not have charged them up prior to using them for the first time. Depending on the type of headphones you're using, see the following:
Beats Studio Buds
We'd recommend using the following to charge them: Charge your Beats Studio Buds - Apple Support
With the charging case, you can get up to 24 hours of playback. And with Fast Fuel, you can get up to one hour of playback after you charge for five minutes. To keep your Beats Studio Buds charged, put them in the charging case when you're not using them.

Then you'd want to visit this page for steps to charge it: Set up and use your Studio3 Wireless headphones - Apple Support
Your headphones provide up to 22 hours of playback from 90 minutes of charging, and up to 40 hours when you turn off Pure ANC. And with Fast Fuel, your headphones provide up to 3 hours of playback from a 10-minute charge.
In case you purchased them and now wish to return them, then we'd recommend contacting Apple or the Reseller, depending on where they were originally purchased. If they were directly purchased from Apple, then you'd have 14 days to return them. Otherwise, you'd need to contact the Reseller about exchanging them or refunds.
