Mackiev upgraded Print Shop 4 to 64 bit about a year ago. At the time they sent offers to registered users of all versions of Print Shop that they could request a free upgrade to the 64-bit version of Print Shop 4. Since that time, Mackiev has been totally unresponsive. I have a year-long, ongoing email thread with their customer service people ... their latest response was "...There are no news at this time, I am so sorry! When there will be any information, we'll let you know right away ..."
If you already have Print Shop 4 you should be able to download the 64-bit update but if not, you're out of luck like the rest of us. The only way to purchase Print Shop 4 is if you are an education institution. They do not sell to individuals any more. And one more thing ... Broderbund's version of Print Shop 4 is awful. It's not the same product as Mackiev Print Shop 4.
I am using Swift Publisher (available in the App Store). It's a decent product but not as elegant as Mackiev Print Shop.

These conversations have been very helpful. I've also been waiting since receiving the original email offering the update. In the meantime I got a new Mac with Ventura which could not transfer The Print Shop app from my Time Machine. I have exchanged emails with Alex from MacKiev from time to time and have been given the same answers that the rest of you have mentioned, including finally that it's not available to purchase for home use. I am keeping my old Mac on my desk with my new Mac and printer just so I can continue to use Print Shop since I have lots of files I otherwise cannot access.
only the developer of an app can change it from 32bit to 64bit
if it was me then I would try to contact the developer about their plan
Yeah, so am I. I even replied to the support mail I received earlier and haven't heard anything back. You know, they are in Ukraine and that's probably why things aren't happening right now.
The other problem is that in North America they only sell PS4 to schools. They used to sell PS to anyone. I suspect there is some legal issue between them and Broderbund who used to sell MacKiev Print Shop but about 2 years ago Broderbund released their own product also called Print Shop ... it's a crappy product - it looks like a badly done Windows port.

MacKiev's developers are in Kyiv, Ukraine, a destination with issues right now. That probably is impacting their ability to do much of anything with intermittent power and water resources.
Yes, that is correct, and I really am understanding about that; it's the reason I have stayed in touch but not dogged them.
OTOH, the announcement that the 64-bit version was available was made in December 2021 and Mackiev confirmed at the time that the update would be available the first week of January 2022, which was over 2 months before the invasion. When I hadn't heard anything by the end of January, they reconfirmed delivery for the first week of February, which also didn't happen. Perhaps they were already scrambling in anticipation of the invasion.
Interesting page, however you cannot download the update from there.

There has been no such link in any of the MacKiev emails I have received in my ongoing correspondence with them about this issue.
Still waiting myself.
