Screen Sharing and Spotlight/Screen Shot/App Switcher

i am sharing my Mac mini onto my old MacBook Pro, soI can use my desktop computer even when I’m not at my desk.

recently, something changed. Before, if I hit Command-Space on my MBP (host) to bring up spotlight, or command-shift-3 to screen shot, or command tab to switch apps, it would do that on the mini (remote computer).

but in the last few days, I must’ve changed something because now, spotlight or the others happen on my laptop.

how do I go back to the old way????

host computer: MBP 17” (2012) running Mavericks.

remote computer: Mac Mini (2018) running Ventura.
