iPhone 14 ProMax is overexposing RAW photos after the fact

I am using the Moment camera app with an iPhone 14 ProMax running iOS 16.0.3 to take RAW photos. The other day, when I opened my recent photos album, all the RAW photos were totally overexposed / blacks crushed. Going into edit doesn't allow me to recover them the way they were. I had texted an image to a family member the day before, so I was able to see how the photo looked when it was shot and how it looks now in the album. Is there any setting that will help me get all these photos back to how they were? I have preserve settings off and photographic styles are set to "standard". The photos I took with the apple camera app were not affected by this. I have no idea why everything looked fine one day, and then all those RAW images from the Moment app were ruined the next. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Hi SravanKrA - thanks so much for your quick reply. These are great resources for how to use the iPhone camera and the settings.

My issue is more about what to do now that the iPhone suddenly changed all the RAW photos in my album. I'm talking about a hundred or so photos that looked fine when they were taken and looked fine for weeks and then suddenly on November 25, 2022 they were all overexposed in the album with no way for me to change them back. So I don't think it's a setting when the photo was taken. I did double check the HDR settings and the other settings you mentioned in your articles - but toggling those on / off do not recover the photos to their original state. Are all these photos just destroyed now?
