HI there Perryfam621,

It looks like you have an Apple Watch Series 7. This watch comes with watchOS 9, which requires an iPhone that is capable of running iOS 16 in order to pair. iOS 16 is available on iPhone 8 and later models: Update your Apple Watch - Apple Support

If you have an iPhone compatible with iOS 16, make sure you have updated to the latest iOS 16 release, iOS 16.1.2. Installing the update provides various fixes and may resolve this. Here's how:

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 15.7 or iOS 16.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.
