I just clicked what looked like an ordinary news article and suddenly found my screen occupied with a flashing message and VoiceOver telling me “your computer has been locked up because of a security threat. Please click here to call Apple support. Please do not attempt to shut down your computer or turn off this message as this will allow your identity to be stolen.“ Has anyone else experienced this one, and does Apple already know about it?

I was pretty **** sure it was phishing but had no idea how to report it, so thank you very much.
If it was email then Apple says forward email attempts as an attachment (in MacOS Mail use the paperclip icon) to: reportphishing@apple.com then delete it.
In your case it's something on a web page or whatever and it's whack-a-mole.
