AirPods for people deaf in one ear

I’ve seen this question come up, but haven’t seen any resolution from Apple. I have complete deafness from nerve damage in my right ear. It would be beneficial for me to have two left AirPods. Is there anyway Apple would modify the case and sell either two left or two right AirPods for people like myself?

We don’t want to be left out. However buying a pair of left and right AirPods is literally tossing half the money in the trash for people unable to use both.
