To clarify, you need to enter the password and then request the code manually so it can be added to the password and stay within the time limit. It won't work if attempting to enter everything all at once.

On older Apple TV models, if you have an Apple ID that uses two-factor authentication, you will need to type your password and then enter the two-factor verification code you receive directly following your password.

In response to the suggested fix, this does not work. Anything else you can provide or has apple effectively turned the AppleTV 3rd gen into a glorified paperweight?
