Iphone keeps disconnecting from data
My Iphone SE (2020) worked perfectly until it developed a strange problem a couple months ago. When I open the browser or any app that uses data, often times it won’t load even though I have service and LTE. If I toggle the data button or airplane mode for about 30 seconds, it works again for a few minutes. This happens probably at least 20 times per day. It seems to work fine on Wifi. It also only seems to happen when I begin a new task (like opening an app or loading a webpage) and not in the middle of a task (like watching a long video)
I’ve called Apple tech support a couple times and tried the following without success:
- making sure the phones is up to date (iOS 16.1.1)
- Restarting phone
- resetting network settings
- running diagnostic tests (no problems found)
- making sure carrier software is up to date (Verizon 52.0)
- reinserting SIM card
I also talked to Verizon tech support and they could not find any issues.
The problem does not seem to be related to location or signal strength.
Calls and texts also work fine, even when data is not working.
This seems to me like it must be a software issue, since toggling data makes it reconnect.
I guess I’m wondering if this is a known bug. And of course, what can I do to fix it?
