I keep getting these screens pop up on my MacBook Pro. I'm pretty certain it's a scam; the phone number is not connected to Apple, but I don't seem to be able to get rid of it permanently. Has anyone else had this experience?

This keeps happening to my husband, because he looks at weird stories (nothing inappropriate) on Safari. I told him to quit clicking on them, lol. Is there any need to install any kind of antivirus or anything, or is quitting Safari and shutting off the computer sufficient?
That is not caused by a virus.
Criminals are sending you fraudulent messages, and sometimes taking over your browser. This is typically done through scripts in wonky ads on wonky web sites.
No one who can detect a threat would lock your computer in response. This is ALWAYS a scam.
Yes, it's a scam. Do not call that number. Do not give any information.
