What do you mean by "real time"?

A CD may take several seconds to import each track, depending on the length of the tracks. If you have Error Correction turned on that will increase the amount of time taken to import the CD. Error Correction is used when the CD does not import correctly (resulting in poor audio quality), such as if the CD is scratched and more difficult to read.

The Error Correction setting is in Edit / Preferences / General > Import Settings / Use error correction when reading Audio CDs.
