Recent IOS update has silenced Siri

Re: "Siri : will not respond with voice, only with typed text on my phone screen."

Seems there may be a Siri setting on your iPhone that needs changing.

Go to Settings  > Accessibility > Siri > choose "Always Speak Responses"

If you find you still need to turn off screen responses:

Go to Settings  > Siri & Search > Tap Siri Responses > then choose an option below Spoken Responses.

Eg: You can turn off: "Always Show Siri Captions" if it is on

or

You can turn off: "Always Show Speech" if it is on

If you haven't already, you could try restarting your iPhone,

maybe the changed settings will register.
