Calendar alert not working

Can’t change calendar alert tone or what’s worse I can’t turn it off.

Here’s the thing, last month when I got my new 14 pro max the calendar alert functioned perfectly. It wasn’t until I loaded my data & apps from the cloud that it malfunctioned. My old phone suffered from the same issue so after I wiped my old phone in preparation for returning I checked the calendar alert and it was working fine. So obviously there’s a conflict causing the issue. But I’m not willing to manually input all of my contact information and other data after wiping my new phone in order to find the problem. Apple needs to track down the problem and rectify it. I’ve tried third party calendar apps that allow me to select alert tones but they’re a hassle to use, clumsy & overly complex. Please fix it so I can again use the native calendar app.

I’ve had iPhones since they first came out 14 years ago so I know the operating system, not a case of ignorance or user error.

At various times I’ve spent hours in total on the phone with Apple “experts” chasing my tail.
