Phone number in iMessages can't be activated

As many have written before, I also have trouble syncing my phone number to my imessage and facetime. a week ago I got a new phone, used but factory reset and as I was setting it up, the iMessages i sent were not connected to my phone number but my email that i use as my Apple ID. I've tried so many possible solutions and none helped. I've restarted my phone atleast a million times, reset the network info etc. I've even been to my network provider to see if they could help and none of the suggested actions worked. The furthest i've gotten was the 'waiting for activation' notice but when the number loaded it sent an error right after confirming the notice for extra charges for iMessage and facetime. Today I went and updated to a new sim card and now the number won't even show up anymore. Tried everything once again all over again and nothing worked. So far no one has been able to help me solve this problem. I just want to be able to send iMessages and facetime people without them getting a message from my email adress:/ Please someone help me fix this.

Hey haneulete,

We'd recommend reviewing the information in this article as it provides steps to help resolve issues activating iMessage: If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support

"Check your device settings

  1. Make sure that you’re connected to a cellular data or Wi-Fi network.
  2. If you're using an iPhone, you need SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your carrier, you might be charged for this SMS.
  3. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure that your time zone is set correctly.

Turn off and restart iMessage and FaceTime

  1. Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.
  2. Go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
  3. Restart your device:
  1. Turn iMessage and FaceTime back on.

Still not activated after a day?

It might take up to 24 hours to activate iMessage and FaceTime. If the issue continues after 24 hours, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
  2. If you're using an iPhone, contact your carrier to make sure that you can send and receive SMS messages.
  3. Make sure you can send and receive SMS. If a prompt appears stating "Your carrier may charge for SMS messages used to activate FaceTime and iMessage", tap "OK" to allow possible SMS charges.
  4. Contact Apple Support."

If that doesn't resolve the issue, we'd recommend contacting Apple Support for further assistance here: Apple Support

Thanks!
