Hey there Bassindre,

Are they sharing the same Apple ID? If so, you'll want to be sure each child is using their own Apple ID to ensure everything functions as it should.

Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple ID

"To avoid issues caused by sharing an Apple ID, set up an Apple ID for each family member and set up Family Sharing.

  1. On the family member's device, sign out of iCloud.
  2. Ask your family member to create an Apple ID. If the family member is under 13, create an Apple ID for your child.
  3. Ask your family member to sign in to iCloud with their new Apple ID on their device.
  4. Set up Family Sharing and invite the family member to your group.
  5. Set up purchase sharing. If you have children in your family, you can also set up Ask to Buy
  6. Now you can share purchases, subscriptions, and more with your family."

Have a good one!

Greetings Bassindre,

It sounds as though Screen Time is working as expected but you're seeing this prompt on your device. To confirm, have you restarted all the devices? If not, restarting is a great way that can resolve many issues. You can find the steps for restarting iPhone X and newer devices listed below. You can also find these steps, along with steps for restarting other iPhone models in the following article.

  1. "Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

Restart your iPhone

I have updated all 3 phones to latest software few days ago - the error is still there. we do have an issue with Nate's phone screen time. although, his screen time is set daily to 15mins for games, on some days it only allows 1 minute (as that extra 1min). i think it may be to do with this error message so would like to sort it. please help. thank you

hello, yes i have managed to set up apple ids for kids without any problems(long ago).

my son has got new iphone 12 and passed his old phone iphone 6 to his little sister. i have restored this iphone 6 to factory settings and logged in my daughter with her apple id.

both kids had these apple ids for long time as they used other phones and their macs.. it was all working fine before.

my daughters screen time on iphone 6 looks to be working absolutely fine without any error messages.

thank you
