After update, app partially deleted

App updates are automatically on my iPhone.

Login is required on lots of apps. But every-time an app gets an update, I have to do the complete setup again, including entering the login data.

Can I avoid this?

Hello GertWouters6,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you're noticing apps require you to log in after it updates, right?

If we have that correct, let's confirm you have the latest iOS version installed on your iPhone. Use the steps below to back up and update your iPhone, if needed. You can find more details on this here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.

2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.

3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.

4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.

The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 15.7 or iOS 16.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

If you have the latest iOS version, confirm with the app developer if you should be required to sign in after an update of the app. This may be expected with some apps, so confirming this will allow you to know if there is a problem or not. Thanks for the answer, but it seems like there's no real solution for my issue...

iOS is on the latest version and the problem was always present.

I discovered the same issue yesterday on my Apple TV's. On three of them I had to log in again on a streaming app after this updated itself.

It's present on many apps. I will try to contact the developer from the app which does lots of updates.
