iPhone Cam & Zoom

I, (and others) have noted that iPhone RECORDS video at 16:9, but if in a Zoom meeting, it will send a 4:3 video stream to Zoom. It does not matter if the iPhone camera was left set to "video." Setting the zoom iOS app tousing "original ratio" or "Fit to screen" only affects the video display in the Zoom app on iPhone, but 3:4 is still sent to the Meeting.

This is not ideal when attempting to record the meeting to create a webinar. Participants using webcams will have 16:9 video, while users with iPhones have 3:4 video.

Any insights?

“Thank you for your reply,

I had it tested on my end and it seems like the Aspect Resolution for Mobile Devices including Android and iPhones is set to 4:3.

If you are using an IPAD you will reach the Aspect Ratio of 16:9.

The only workaround is to manually put the Mobile devices into Landscape

Mode but it will still send out a 4:3 ratio and you will still have some

black spaces on the sides.”

So from what I understand, is that the iPhone camera is 4:3 format, and is cropped in software to 16:9 for shooting video by the Camera app. But when streaming or using as a webcam, will send a the full image - at 4:3 ratio.
