Apple Pencil Possibly Broken?

Just recently I came across a problem with either my apple pen or the iPad itself. I’ve noticed the pen works when little to no pressure is put on it but when a little bit more pressure is put on it the pen doesn’t write until the pressure is released. I have been trying to look with people with similar problems but I could not find any. Does anyone know about this and how to fix it if it even is fixable? Thank you in advance. I’ve had the pen and iPad for no longer than a year or so.
