How I do I turn off the activation lock from my watch after the pervious owner moved away

I got a Apple Watch series 3 for my birthday, And the person who bought it bought it from another person who moved the next day, And when I tried to set it up I needed his Apple ID and password, But he wouldn’t like to share it (understandable) but now I don’t know what to do, If I should go to apple and tell them this or is there a feature on the watch that I can fix it somehow.

Hey there. I recently had something similar happen. I bought mine second hand and was able to contact the owner since I bought it from them. Thankfully mine works fine now. Unfortunately if you don’t know who the real owner is… you’re out of luck and it’s essentially worthless to you. Sorry!

Unfortunately, without that information, you will not be able to unlock the Apple Watch. It is there for security reasons to make sure that someone did not steal it and then try to use it for themselves. The one I had to put in the Apple ID information on the watch what they would do is go to their phone and under settings remove the Watch from their account. They should be able to use it

after doing that. You may wanna contact the previous owner and have them unlock the watch from their Apple device. You will not need their Apple ID credentials since they are the ones that have to do it on their end.
