I can't delete Wallpapers from my iPhone SE running iOS16

I can't delete Wallpapers from my iPhone SE running iOS16?

The method described in resources and in many web posts I find doesn't work for me - tapping and holding on the home screen does not bring up the the Wallpaper Gallery on my iPhone SE and other older iPhones.

Does anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences?

iPhone SE, iOS 16
