iPhone won’t connect automatically to known hidden network

I have my home network setup with a hidden SSID. Unfortunately, once I become disconnected, I have to re-enter the SSID name and password each time.

The network shows on my known networks list without duplicates, “Auto Join” is turned on in that network’s settings, and “Low Data Mode” is turned off.

I am within range with a strong signal once my device is connected, so signal strength is not the issue. I had no issues prior to making my network hidden (for better security).

I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

Manually removed the network through “Forget Network”, and reconnected.

Toggle “Auto Join” when not connected.

Toggle WiFi on/off (which only disconnects me to have to manually connect with credentials again.

Power cycled my device.

Rebooted router.

This seems like a bug.
