copy many photos from shared folder to new folder on my iphone

I have 1400 photos in a shared folder I would like to copy and put in a new folder on my iphone. Is there a way to do this directly, without moving all 1400 into my photos, and then having to reselect them all to move to a new folder?

It should work, however, when I select around ~800 photos (all of them in one directory) and save, there are not all of them visible as they should be. help with photos on my Iphone i would like to move my photos from the general area of my Iphone to folders but when I do this they still remain in the general file and if I delete them they are gone from the phone Is it possible to move these photos in to folders without duplicates?
