Cannot login Wi-Fi after NPS Certificate Renewed

We use Windows Network Policy Server with PEAP authentication with self-signed certificate. NPS authenticate with our AD. Everything was working fine until we updated the certificate.

With existing iPhone (14 Max Pro) that had connected in the past, there's a certificate trusted on the phone. When we try to connect after the new certificate was installed, it won't allow to connect.

We have tested with an iPhone never connected to Wi-Fi before, it would download the new certificate and ask you to trust it, then it will connect without issue. So we believe that the old certificate is preventing it from connect.

I research everywhere online, and not able to find the instruction on how to delete the old certificate from iPhone 14 Max Pro with IOS Version 16.1.2.

Is there anyone who can provide the steps on how to remove the old certificate from iPhone?

Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, JJ3742,

If we understand your post correctly, your iPhone is not able to connect to your Wi-Fi network after updating the security certificate. We’d like to help.

Forgetting the network before trying to install the updated certificate and connect may help:

Depending on how your iPhone was set up to connect you may need to remove and reinstall your configuration profile:
