I submitted a request to reset my password but the email to do so was sent to an address I don't know. Now what?

my request to reset my password via email was sent to an email I have never heard of. Have I compromised my security?

Just so we're clear, do you mean you never received the email? See If you didn't receive your verification or reset email - Apple Support


If you mean you sent a request to an email address (which Apple does not use for anything unless they specifically provide you with one) then:


Click on this link "If you think your Apple ID has been compromised" --> If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support


If you want to see if anyone else has access to your device or accounts, click here --> See who has access to your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
