My buddy has an Android phone and when he goes into the wifi settings and connections he can see what wifi frequency he's currently using. In his home, like mine he has both 5ghz and 2.5. How can I see what frequency my iPhone is on?

While iOS may not show whether the device is connected to a 2.4 or 5 GHz connection, you may always opt to provide feedback to Apple on things you'd like to see.

If you control the router split the bands into separate SSIDs (XYZZY and XYZZY-5G, for example). Then you can control which you connect to. Even better than knowing which network.
