ICloud won't update on comics

I have iCloud Drive set up on my PC and my iPad Pro.

I uploaded some files (.cbz) to my Chunky Comics Reader folder on iCloud from my PC and then launched Chunky Comic Reader on my iPad Pro 12.9 3rd Gen.

I then opened Chunky on my iPad and activated the "Sync Folder". The App says it's synching but there's absolutely no progress. At some time the "Syncing" symbol with the spinning wheel simply disappears and 0 comics were downloaded. If I do it by hand from ICloud it's a matter of seconds until a comic is downloaded from iCloud though..

I went back to my PC to check and the comics are definitely there.

I've restarted everything and turned ICloud on and off for minutes but it still won't work. I also have the newest iOS (15.7.1). Yet I also found a thread on this community who had the absolute same problem already back in 2016 - which still doesnt seem solved.

Can anyone suggest anything please?

We'd like to help guide you in the best direction before contacting support. The best guidance we can share is to make sure you have the Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - Apple to ensure there is not an issue related to network. If this does not help, and without Apple having any direct articles for iCloud Drive sync issues, you will want to contact Apple Support
